texture transparency

Im currently working on a project in which I have an image texture and it is on a plane. Now the picutre is of me and the background and such has been been pulled away in photoshop. I saved in TGA format with the background as transparent. Now this plane is in the middle of my scene
not the back. And when I try to place objects behind it, it becomes obviously transparent… NOT the effect im after. This is especially bad for the particle system behind the image… what can i do!!!

This question has been asked at least twice this month.

Basically you need two texture, one is the image, another is an alpha mask.

if you put the alpha channel into your targa, you can click ‘use alpha’ and need only one texture
