Texture with Warp Modifer stuck to sides

When using the UV Warp modifier for a 2D eye rig, the eyes are stuck to the sides of the mesh (Left eye, on the right side)
Adjusting the X axis doesn’t do anything


(Changed X offset to 0.5, and shows no changes)

I’ve been following the “How I Made The Best 2d Facial Rig” by the Sickly Wizard

Been bashing my head at this for the entire day, and I still have no idea why the X axis glues the eye texture to the sides like that.

My intention was to slide the eyes around, rather than switching them.
But the point is, I dont see where UV Warp was really used in that video.
