This is one of my favorite areas from one of my favorite games and also a project that I have spent a week on making since I am still getting used to creating projects with immense detail. My process was mainly to break down the big structure into its fundamental shapes and arrange these meshes to create the overall structure. I find this to be much simpler than using one continuous mesh to model the whole building. The main work here was figuring out the lighting setup. In the end, I found that it would be helpful to use a bunch of small lights to light most areas while making use of a couple spot lights with their volume scatter disabled to show the rest of the structure. After finishing up the details, I used Lightroom for compositing which gave me the final result. I’ve attached the raw render along with the final shot. Hope this looks good!

Both versions look great, but I actually like the greenish, unedited version a little more.

I wasn’t going for a gritty tone personally so I decided to change it up when compositing
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
