The Ancient Kingdom

I’ve done this piece in about 2 days, since it’s pretty much a very straight forward scene. All props were modeled in Blender and textures within Substance Painter.
The pirate dude was done through an addon, so I’m not taking credit for that.

This is some outstanding work, the scale conveyed is enormous.

Yeah, great sense of scale.

And those characters/letters are really neat—is that a real script or one you designed?

Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words.

The letters were a bit tricky, as there weren’t many resources I could pull those from in a proper way, mostly just found images of walls with hieroglyphs on them, but wasn’t able to extract them as I would’ve liked.
I then managed to find some obscure website that had a bunch of matrices of hieroglyphs and conveniently they were all on transparent backgrounds. I picked a few of those and turned them intro alpha stamps I later used in Substance Painter.

Was just thinking of something like this, the revelation of something grandiose and ancient by a tiny person with a flashlight. Beautifully done.

Thanks!

I’m sure there’s still plenty of untraveled lands, so go ahead and kick some ass!
