The best way of scaling objects

What’s the best way to scale up objects in a scene so they have the right proportion to each other. Is it possible to link XYZ scale values to another unit of measurement, for example meters or feet?

How do you guys approach scaling so that the relation between objects in a scene make sense?

Thanks for your help.

I just eye it, lol. But if you do precision work (like CAD) there’s an option to turn everything into meters. You can look it up on google: blender turn measurement into meters If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to reply back or send me a message! Happy blending!

Thanks snapdragon6 and DOMO79.

So many things to learn but so little time! Sometimes I seem to have a working plan and patience on how I am going to learn things, and then suddenly I start asking questions and I get lost in the wild! It’s frustrating but fun at the same time.

I wish there was one well organized and comprehensive source for all Blender matters. I read books (most of them are not up to date to the latest versions), and internet seem to fill the gap on things I can’t find in them, but it could be better!

I have the same problem. I started out reading and not practicing. so I know what a lot of things are called or effects but… I still need to work on my textures, learn compositing and animation.

modeling just gets easier the more you practice. I still need to learn more about topology like recognizing a pole and how to know where my loop ring will go by this.
I started watching wood working videos on YouTube or looked up blue prints say a window frame to learn how to model things on how they are put together.

I believe reading books gives you a more structured way of learning things and at some point when you want to explore more, or seek clarification on some things, then the internet is a great tool.

It’s true, everything gets easier the more you practice. I am trying to concentrate on building sets for now, so things like landscape and buildings - interior and exterior - are more of a priority right now together with being able to do good composition with keyed footage.

I will try to answer your question on your thread as I spent the last 2 days reading about scale.
