Yeah, there’s a Blender Artists thread about Autoremesher. If I’m not mistaking the developer has ceased its development. The last version was released in September 2020.
But as it’s open source, a Blender developer could improve it and integrate it into Blender. There are still some issues, for example remeshing in a low-polygon count is not as good as ZRemesher / Quad Remesher, and there are six-edged singularities.
