The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Hello everyone! I’m glad to share my latest personal project. This character was developed during a course led by https://www.artstation.com/joaquincossio in February, which I found to be incredibly enriching. I’m genuinely happy with the final result and all the knowledge I gained in this course.

The primary goal of this project was to create a full 3D character inspired on whoever we wanted. In my case, I chose to sculpt a young Will Smith, although achieving a perfect likeness wasn’t my primary focus, Im happy with what I made. I learned valuable tips on the sculpting and likeness process thanks to Joaco. The workflow used in this project is based on the standards of television and film.
I made every aspect of this character, from his head to the sneakers, starting from a sphere in ZBrush. I utilized WRAP3D to transfer the sculpt onto a base mesh, created clothing using Marvelous Designer, and performed retopology work in both Maya and Blender. UV mapping was accomplished in Blender, while texturing was executed in Substance Painter. Additionally, I handled grooming, final shading, and rendering within Blender.
The look development scene was based on a free studio lookdev scene I found on https://www.blendernation.com/2021/11/14/free-download-studio-lookdev-scene/, I worked with assets from that scene, also I drew inspiration from the work of https://www.artstation.com/donchuan3d, whose lookdev scenes were particularly influential in shaping my final vision.

Gracias Joaquin, sos un muy buen profesor!
