Hey everyone I just finished this mountain valley environment after a few days of intensive work in Blender. My goal was to move from a simple blockout to a finished cinematic scene while learning how to mix custom modeling with scanned assets.
Breakdown:
Custom Work: I modeled and textured the wooden bridge and the stone perimeter walls to fit the terrain.
Assets: Used a photogrammetry scan from Sketchfab for the mountain top castle and some community house assets for the village.
Environment: Used a mix of manual placement and scattering for the trees and rocks.
Lighting: Focused heavily on volumetrics and ‘Golden Hour’ sun positioning to get those God Rays and aerial perspective.
