This is somthing I did in about an hour last night:
A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:
Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, “Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.” And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals … Now did the Lord say, “First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.”
Ah… a Python fan Excuse me while I pause to eat my spam, spam, eggs, and spam sandwich…
My only crit is the wood grain on the box. For things like that, I’ve found that I need two wood materials that align in different directions. One is used for the sides and the other for the front/back. It’s essentially the same material duplicated, with the second switching an axis. Then you just apply the version of the wood material to the sides that it looks best on.
Hehe, I love that movie, but for the crits. I think you could work on your texturing some. The wood looks kind of funny, maybe decrease its specularity some. Maybe decrease the brightness of your light some as well to. Not sure what the things on the cross are, but I believe they could use some work as well.
Um. I love the idea, but the outcome looks…well…awful. It is far too grainy, and looks like you didn’t put any time into it at all. Give it another 10 mins of retouching and it could be quite neat. Keep at it.
Thanks for all of the crits guys! I’ll touch it up this week.

It looks bad because I didn’t put any time into it. This is the product of an hour of blending on a lazy Saturday night after a crazy idea. I do plan to give it some spit shine though. Somthing to look forward to this weekend.
nice but I think the nor map on the box might need to be inverted…might just be my eyes but the notches etc look like they are sticking out of the wood rather than into it.
But perhaps you were going for that look?
Did you use a bit of AO on that as well? There seems to be a grainy look to the floor now, reminiscent of AO on default setting.
