The Last Light at the Lake

Hey everyone!

Here’s my latest project, which is the result of the first chapter of the CG Boost “Master 3D Environments in Blender” course. It has been on my to-do list for a few years now, and I’m excited to finally be diving into it!

It’s been a great learning experience, exploring various tools of creating quick but realistic environments.

And here they are side-by-side with a clay renders:

I’d love to hear any feedback or thoughts you have! I will continue to share my progress with the next chapters in the following weeks, thanks for checking it out!

A bit ago, I saw a similar piece like yours and one bit of feedback I saw was that the mountain looked a little too clear and sharp. With how far away mountains are, they tend to get enveloped in the atmosphere and look a bit faded out instead of super crisp.

This image is a good example:

Here’s another example of mountains in New Zealand:

Especially since yours is in a setting where the sky isn’t completely clear. Mountains tend to look bluer and bluer the further away they are from the POV.

Thank you for such detail feedback, much appreciated! I see what you mean, I agree, perhaps the atmosphere could have been a bit intensified
