I have finally finished my first film made with Blender! It’s only 3 minutes long, so I don’t really know if it qualifies being called a “film”. Any constructive critique is welcome.

I think you could work a lot on the voice acting, but visually it looked great. Maybe some materials could’ve been better and there was quite a bit of noise (but three minutes of cycles with fairly complex scenes can’t have been quick). Cool film though, really liked it.
Oh well, I recorded the voice with my laptop mic, and I agree it can be improved. I originally considered asking for help from professionals, but I’m already getting tired of this project and just wanted to finish it!
The noise is a problem too. My GPU is unsupported by Blender, so I have to render everything with my CPU, which takes forever. I tried to render everything within the last month; big mistake. Next time I’ll start rendering as soon as I finish a scene.
Bump; can I have some more feedback?
IMO :
- good short film,
- Some minor problems (like noise you noticed),
- Some shots may seem like clichés, like the knife in the water,
- the story is good and well made,
- nice sounds and music,
- nice camera movements.
