The Power of Knife Tool In Blender

In this tutorial you will not only learn how to use knife tool but also where to use it . You will also learn about the bisect tool. You will learn how you can use the Knife tool to create post apocalyptic or apocalyptic buildings using knife tool .

You can support me on PATREON where you will be able to download the the project files and models that I have used in my tutorials and speed up modelling or sculpting videos.

very nice techniques!!!

A question though: If you add some new vertices and move them with slide (GG), you can preserve the texture mapping with the Correct UVs option. What about moving vertices without sliding (G)? Can you preserve the texture mapping and if not, why?

Edit: it looks like it doesn’t exist yet… it would be a nice feature to implement

The slide (GG) can only move towards an edge or vertices not opposite to it .
It will be better if a bigger brick is traced out so that it does not need any stretching later after its creation. Single (G) can not preserve the texture because its not dependent on the UVs.
If (GG) is used then its a must that topology needs to be correct otherwise you will see stretching in the texture . And if the topology is correct then It preserve the texture. The reason is that the slide command not only is working inside 3d mesh but also in the uv editor .
For sake of and experiment you can apply texture on simple cube and use the GG command and you will see actually it cuts out the texture as its sliding the uv inside the uv editor.

Yes, I heard though that it was possible in some softwares (Maya, 3D Max?)

anyway, very nice works, congrats!
