The secret behind Super Smash Bros Ultimate artworks renders?

Ever since i’ve started practicing blender, learning about textures, modeling, rigging… all this stuff… I’ve found myself completely clueless about how achieving renders that could ever match smash bros’s.

I think I have issues with shading and lighting in a general manner, i’ve been testing a lots of things, like dynamic sky, preconceived skin shader setups, HDRI environment, color management tampering, gradients textures… yet I am clueless about how to make good use of all of these things…

Therefore, I’ve been wondering if some experts here, could provides me some advices or tips about how to closely match Super Smash Bros style using the bsdf principled shader, HDRI maps or whatever could help me making my renders pops for any model
(There are still many and many things I ignore about blender despite the fact i’ve been practicing for 2 years…).

I know there aren’t necessarily secrets and that this all based on practice and testing stuff again and again but there must be tips and direction to take to achieve Smash style, and that’s what I’m looking for to achieve my own “smashified” renders.

I need to know what HDRI maps to use? What shader setups are recommanded to use? What setup for the color management? Compositing?

I truly want to evolve in 3D rendering for myself, and for once, I think I need experts advice…

Thank you in advance and sorry for my potential terrible English (Not my first language)…

Here are some example of what I am trying to achieve

Here maybe this will help you… HERE

First you need to gain theoretical knowledge - the foundations of artistic expression & visual storytelling.
Otherwise be confused until you gain such skill from experience, which can also take a lifetime…
