Love the main hall view and the typewriter detail shot, great work! Gotta love those Stanley Kubrick movies! The shining along with full metal jacket are my favorites. Really captured that 60s-70s mood

superb work! I wonder how the transition between textured/AO/wireframe in the breakdown is made. it is done directly in blender or you used other software of postprod (adobe)? really an amazing work anyway keep it up! :call_me_hand:

This is great work, literally
It’s amazing that you have constant quality trough entire movie, no weak points, rushed stuff. Camera move is perfect just like music background.

Astonishing…SOTA, I mean it was hard to distinguish from real movie settings, amazing painstaking crazy tribute to the best filmmaker of this world. The master was a photographist before being director, he conceived his movies like a sequence of images. In fact he made largest use of static frames and this also why his works look so peculiar, you can say it at once if one is Kubrick’s movie…and they befit so well virtual representations. The Shining was also his most “commercial” movie, as he said, done to catch audience and bend his genius to what Warner Bros wanted…despite this, it was a success. Very good, you should sell it to a website for a virtual tour…

Holy mackerel… Amazing. Looks 100% real. And the frozen actions are pure art. This should be the teaser if they ever do a remaster! What was the render time??

@alekba There is unfortunately some weak point that i would like to improve but otherwise i’m pretty happy with the final result.

@Demiurgos Thanks ! I probably gonna sell it yeah.

@Embassy_of_Time For the render time it depends of the room :

  • The Elevator sequence took 1-2 min per frame x 550 frames
  • The Corridor Twins sequence took 2-3 min per frame x 930 frames
  • The Bathroom took 4-5 min per frame x 800 frames
  • The Corridor Axe and The Colorado Lounge took 5-7 min per frame x 2000 frames

I render on a RTX 3090 24Go and it took me a full week, 24hrs a day to completely render the Film !

There is always room for improvements, also real artist is newer satisfied, at least with entire artwork.
Talking of selling or future usage, do you consider to move entire project in UE. This will allow real virtual tour. I see couple artworks with Shining theme, mostly static images, couple animations ( mostly blood which spill out ), but no one make entire interior. Maybe you only need to make exterior so virtual tour can began from outside…
