One of the most popular TV shows of all time is coming out with a feature length, sliver screen event!
I’ve been a Simpsons fan since… I was born, practically. My family has been watching it since it came out. It’s one of our favorite shows, and we love quoting it. Despite the fact that it’s quality hase gone down quite a bit in recent seasons, I still think it’s a good show.
I went to see Ice Age 2 on March 31st and my mother and I were :o when the teaser for the Simpsons movie came up during previews.
With such a huge fan base, I think its destined to do very well, even if it turns out total crap (but I have a feeling they won’t drop the ball on this). As a fan, I know, even if it gets 0 stars from all the critics, I will see it anyway.

I want to see the trailer, but it seems I need to update to Quick Time 7. Will upgrading make me have to re-buy Quick Time Pro to keep it? Can I use the activation key I got when I first bought Quick Time Pro?
The Simpson was great until a bunch of crappy people started complaining that it was too offensive, I don’t expect the movie to be any better. Like the movie Doomed, Mortal Combat, Street Fighter and Pokemon it’s just hyped and I think the movie will be lamer then the TV show. Now Family Guy the movie, that would be something to see.
Oh yeah, where The Simpsons don’t have the balls to go, Family Guy steps in.

Have you seen the Stewie Griffin Movie? Not in theaters (and Actually just 3 episodes with some extras) but still, its an hour and a half of hilariousness.
Unrated. The F-Bomb is dropped, multiple times, but it’s still funny…
Actually I never seen the movie unrated version, but I do like the television show over the Simpsons. Don’t like American Dad, think it’s a liberal show that just bash Republicans life style, not that I care.

The new episodes are just so bad. It’s all reverting to slapstick humor.
Family Guy can be much better but its new episodes aren’t as funny, as they are starting to rely on way way too many of the flashbacks instead of making the semi-coherant funny situations that the earlier episodes did.
But if you want some REAL entertainment, turn to Adult Swim and watch Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos. Never fails.
Or try Robot Chicken, it’s by Seth Green and packs more comedy in 10 minutes than several episodes of Family Guy.
While I don’t hope the movie does poorly, I do wish they would stop the series after the movie comes out. They really should take the Seinfield-ish approach of “Screw you, we’re going off the air, and no, we don’t want your $10,000,000 for a reunion episode, thanks.”
I liked the Family Guy movie. I also like the show and American Dad. The Simpsons just plain sucks now. One of the reasons it does may be one reason I won’t like the movie. They have over-developed the voices so they sound retarded. Homer used to sound like a genuinely stupid guy but now it sound like he’s trying to act stupid. The same goes for the other characters. Instead of them developing personalities, it’s like they are now just trying to stick to the personalities they have.
Put it this way, they can’t even make a funny advert for Domino’s Pizza so how are they going to make a full length movie funny?
I honestly hope the movie does well because it might remind me of better days but they’ve ruined it for so long that I’m not sure I’ll enjoy it even if it is good. I’m just tired of seeing the Simpsons do anything now.

One thing I’m curious about is why do people like Seinfeld? I don’t think the show is funny at all. I’ve watched loads of episodes and I just think they are all crap. Is it an American humour thing? Sometimes humour doesn’t translate well. I’m the same with Frasier.
My brother finds some American comedies funny but I hardly ever do. Shows like Becker. It seems to me like people these days are so desperate to be entertained and inject laughter into their miserable lives that whenever a movie is advertised as a comedy, people sometimes try to laugh at them even when they aren’t funny.
I found myself doing that when watching Lost in Translation - one of the worst movies I’ve ever watched in my life.

i think its more like a train track the rails have to end somewhere and think this is it for the simpsons i dont think that its them over developing the characters it just they’ve run out of gags and i for one got bored of watchin loads of repeats
Its like it is with anything though you have to bring something new into the equation otherwise you wont go nowhere its the reason soaps are still on tv because thy hook in the viewers with a different story each week but the simpsons dont tell an on going story just characters in a different situation. If you look back msot of the good films etc. have either been a good storyline with great acting or they have brought in something new e.g toy story, toy story is well remebered by most people as it was one of the first well presented animated movies it brought something new into the industry and its rembered for that.
I dont see why they stopped making futurama either i preffer that to the simpsons mainly because it was something new but it was good becuase it still had the qualitys the simpsons had when it started and their earlier episodes but like anything that would of dwindled over a length of time.
Yeh i think family guy and american dad are good but im still putting that down to them only resently getting noticed well i feel that over the years just like the simpsons they will to run out of jokes to tell and go the same way but thats just the way things are

In hindsight the film will either make or break the simpsons and yes it may be good but i still think that they’ve run out of jokes therefore even if this film is good it will still break it because they have nothing else to say or tell.
