The Snake King - Nagraj : A contemporary interpretation

Nagraj - The Snake King is a fictional superhero appearing in Indian comic books published by Raj Comics, created in the late 1980s. Nagraj is believed to have been inspired by the mythological Ichchhadhari Nag (shapeshifting snakes) and historical Vishmanushya (venomous human).
The stories create a rich blend of mythology, fantasy, magic, and science fiction in the comics. Many of Nagraj’s fans believe that, over time, Nagraj’s comics have developed snake mythology of their own, which is unique to the popular Indian beliefs about snakes that are prevalent among the masses.

This work of art is my own interpretation of Nagraj - The Snake King.
The costume and the character look have been re-conceptualized to fit the narrative of superhero design aesthetics in 2021. An inter-dimensional deity of shapeshifting snakes grants his powers; hence the suit is made of elemental snakeskin, which produces venomous snakes as per his will.
