I like this for the goofy spoof! 
I like how you modeled the “stained-glass” mantis on the back wall.
Hard to tell in the dark, but I think the lead priest has a knife(?) to perform the sacrifice. I think you missed the opportunity to have it holding a more suitable implement of insect-sacrifice, such as a fly-swatter, or a can of bug-spray, or even a large shoe. 
Thanks for sharing another less well-known moment in time.
