Thoughts on a dedicated retopology mode?

I usually have a few distinct tools and settings for retopology over general editing or sculpting and i want to brainstorm what tools people might want in a ‘retopology mode’ addon. object, edit, vertex paint kind of mode.

Basically, what built in tools would you like present and on by default in a dedicated retopo mode?

I would have retopology overlay on of course.

I then usually have project snap or nearest surface

I haven’t found any of the main tools that helpful and i often go with polyquilt but it has an annoying behaviour of selecting vertices so i end up switching back and forth a lot.

I also use the sculpt relax tools and find it a bit weird it’s not in edit mode, as with the loop tools.

What would you have together in a dedicated retopo mode?

A quad re-mesher, like what exoside sells, would be nice
