Hello,
I am a designer based in South Korea.
Today, I’d like to introduce a product I designed, called the Threadsphone.
Threads has been growing in popularity in Korea recently, and I can personally feel its impact. However, while using Threads, I often found the icons to be relatively small, which made interacting with them somewhat inconvenient.
To address this, I came up with a simple idea: what if the most frequently used icons were turned into physical buttons? That’s how I ended up designing this device.
I often design these kinds of devices, and once I create one, I enjoy experimenting with various modifications. Before showcasing the Threadsphone, I tried out several interesting variations, and the process itself was incredibly fun for me.
For the physical buttons, I took inspiration from the design of the Google Chromecast remote, which I admire. It’s a simple concept, but I hope you enjoy seeing how it has been brought to life.
As a side note, all the objects used in this scene were created by me.
I prefer to create and use my own assets whenever possible, as it gives me a greater sense of accomplishment.
Have a great day!
