tips for a low poly model

Hi,

I am modeling a spitfire in low poly for BGE :


Does the number of polygon is acceptable?
Ve:817
Fa:864

I think to do a 3D cockpit view. Do I make the cockpit inside the main model or is it another model ?

The Spitfire looks good.

You could do a following system:

External view:

  • Complete plane object with control surface child objects etc.
  • A very simply & stripped cockpit object. No working gauges or controls.

Internal view:

  • A very simply & stripped plane object. All non-visible polygons and child objects are stripped off.
  • Complete cockpit object with working gauges and controls.

Looks good - but for a flying version You could save some faces by replacing the propeller with a transparent plane, that’s probably what looks best anyway.
