Tips for sculpting lips

Hello Dear Reader,

I recently got into sculpting and I’m trying to learn to sculpt humans, I’m watching YouTube tutorials to learn the basics.

I have sculpted a few lips and no matter how much I work on them; the lips just don’t look good. to my eyes the problem is with the sides of the lips, I just cannot get it right.

I’d love to get some tips from you

here are two screenshots of my latest lip sculpture, could you please take a look and tell me what to do to improve my lip sculpting, how could I make some proper lips?

By the way, I know practice makes perfect, but I want to get some tips from people with more experience.

Thanks for reading

Here’s a picture from the side view. because i’m a new user i could only upload one image with my quesiton.

More indentation around the corners, and more flesh around the sides. You have encountered a common mouth issue which I refer to as duck mouth.

Also, most of the time, you’ll find the top lip sticks out further than the bottom.
