Tips on how to make high to low poly look better?

Hi,

I baked a higher poly object to lower, baked bevel and Z map for mixing it with a moss shader and a stone shader. I want to keep it this low poly. Should I be able to get better results with such poly count, and if so, do you have any tips? Or do you say like “owh yes, but that is very low poly”

Add bumpmaps and maybe another map layer ( some kind of detailmap ) that will dirt irregularly the stones, just like i did for Carcassonne^^

I believe those assets are targetted to a game for realtime rendering ?
Adding a map is not very expensive in this case but sometimes, if your target platform has a decent gpu, it is even cheaper to add some faces for more details, than adding a texture layer.

Only your target platform can say by burdenning it with hundreds of thousands of those assets

Happy blending !

Thanks, I will try a bit higher poly. I used already procedural bumpmaps.

Doubling the initial polycount helped indeed.
Just some more improvements on materials.

And more masks helped to improve the material:
