Titles effect seen in 'The Prestige' trailer

Hi,

jonbiggins discovered a very nice titles effect in >this trailer for the coming movie ‘The Prestige’ and asked if anybody knew how to reproduce this (see >his thread in News & Discussion).

After having a close look at the trailer, I tried to do it in Blender - this is the result:

Ah, they’re cubes with rotating faces.
What’s so diff about that?

…they aren’t cubes - the target image is mapped to 3D letters. It’s not too difficult, just a nice effect.
