Toonish Character Model

Dear Blender Community,

I have here an old man character inspired by the comic character Snuffy Smith. I plan to pose and animate this character. I would appreciate any critique or feedback you have to give. Thanks.

Haha

Thanks for the comment. It gave me an idea for an animation. The handkerchief doesn’t stand a chance.

Would make the hands and feets bigger, thicker, the ears also could look more fat, cartoonish.

I think the hands looks a bit flat on top, and maybe pull the shoulders down a bit or maybe thats just the perspective fooling me. Btw I really like the character overall I think it’ll look great once you add some materials

I have sculpted the mesh and prepared separate textures for the head and body. However, I unwrapped the mesh on the same UV Texture layer. I intended to have an OBJ export file that holds all the UV data and wasn’t sure how multiple UV Texture layers work with the OBJ export. Creating a new layer refreshes the UVs of the mesh so that brings me to the problem. I would like to create a copy of the UV Texture layer so that I can apply these textures and preview the results. Does anyone have suggestions? I thought about python, and the console, but I have limited knowledge in using these.

Thank you for your time.

So after some sculpting, baking out textures, and a few extra models thrown in, this is the result. I don’t know how I might get some wrinkles thrown in on the pants, or if a simple displacement texture is ideal for such things.

Comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks.
