Toy Soldier (Will be 3D printed)

Hi,

I wanna show you my last project, print a 3D toy soldier I created, it will be my first 3D printed object, I’ll upload it to shapeways.

Do you have any advices/tips?

There’s 608 866 triangles.

Thanks!

The pose is very stiff.

I was inspired by this one, to do this pose. I’ll do 5 different pose/characters per Nations.

That pose in the picture is good but the pose you made looks nothing like that one in the picture.

Render one image directly from the front.

I said “inspired”, didn’t say I copied the pose… Soldiers, when they’re waiting near a building, protecting an area, or something, when they don’t walk, they could stand the way I created my soldier.
It’s not the US army, that’s not important, it’s just to illustrate the pose…

Apart from the pose… Do you see something that could mess the printing process?

Also the soldiers butt area is not present in your model. Look how the soldiers look in that picture. Your model is flat all the way from head to feet. Also there is a perfect reason why they hold the rifle like that. It’s heavy. A soldier holding it like your model would get tired real fast.

I know nothing about the printing process. You could ask in a 3d printer forum if you want technical questions answered.

bigbad… It’s a toy… The audience will be kids from 5 to 12. Older people could buy it for sure, but the purpose of this toy soldier is to be cool and a toy… I know nothing about guns, I won’t learn gun physics to create a toy. For example, when I’ll do a viking I won’t mind if the armor is too heavy to bear it… By the way there’s a minimum thickness to print 3D objects. So there’s constraints…
My soldiers will be 5 cm of height. (1.96 inches)

I don’t know about the butt… If I add volume to the butt, it will look like a girl.

Here’s another picture, they don’t hold it the same way!
