Project Overview: Tranquil Village
Tranquil Village is a game-ready, top-down mobile environment designed with a focus on organic layout planning, efficient asset placement, and interactive gameplay integration. Nestled within a protective, rugged canyon, the village features a network of winding stone paths connecting distinct residential huts and communal areas.
Key Responsibilities & Workflow
- 3D Modeling & Layout (Blender): Modeled the environment’s core geography, including the surrounding rocky cliffs, terrain elevations, and stylized thatched-roof huts. Designed an intuitive, branching path system to guide player navigation naturally across the map.
- Texturing & Materials: Authored and applied optimized materials across the terrain, foliage, and architectural assets to maintain a vibrant, cohesive, and performance-friendly aesthetic suitable for mobile hardware.
- Engine Integration & Playability (Unreal Engine): Imported the complete level into Unreal Engine to build a fully realized game world. Populated the environment with functional collision models, optimized dynamic/baked lighting, and a series of interactive gameplay objects.
- UI/UX Map Illustration: Translated the 3D top-down layout into a stylized, cartoon-themed 2D minimap/world map. The map preserves exact environmental proportions, paths, and hut locations while integrating essential mobile UI elements like a compass rose, stylized banner, and a custom gameplay legend.
