Transparenct/alpha channel without GLSL

Does anybody happen to know or know if you can do alpha cutaway or transparency in the game engine without glsl.

i have a picture of a hear that i need in the game as an overlay that has a alpha transparent background made in Photoshop but the only way i can get it to work is with glsl and my game is just multitexture.
