Transparency issues

Hey. so I’m having an issue with a transparent material when I append it into a new file. I have seen others have this issue and solve it. the only problem is that those were on older versions of blender (I’m on 3.4) and I don’t actually know what was changed. something to do with lighting/raytraced transparency. I don’t really know what that is as I am reasonably new to this part of blender.

The issue itself is that the back of the transparent object is acting like a mirror rather than see though. it should be completely transparent and be a bit refractive.

If anyone knows how to fix this or has an idea then it would be appreciated.
