I need to get this sort of info in the shader to avoid LaGrange artifacts from vertex interpolation

I need to replace closest point on curve with one per pixel, same goes for curve tangent and curve normal. (then it should have no artifacts right across seams)

noted the curve was cyclic and that was causing some of the artifacts
