Trouble installing yaf(a)ray

Hi everyone, Im having trouble installing yafaray. So i’ve downloaded the installer. Run the installer. and installed it. Then it’s supposed to be done? is it something else that I have to do?, I can’t find it anywhere on the web. According to a yaf(a)ray tutorial it’s supposed to be a script-icon that sais yafaray export something, in the render-menu but thats not there.

Could someone guide me :frowning:

What operating system are you using? I’m guessing windows? If you have successfully installed yafaray and the altered blender that is required to use it, you need to place the yafaray_ui.py script in your blender scripts directory. This will add the yafaray export to the “Render” option at the top of the blender window.

If you want to use yafaray with blender, I think you need a special build. You can probably search for yafaray and find some info on using it with blender.

Here you have a little yaf(a)ray guide that deals too with the installation process a bit:

Alvaro.

I’ve seen some cool things from Yafaray, but when I tried it, everything - including a basic cube was really strangely grainy.

Also, if I gave it anything meaty to work on, it bombed out.

But I’m looking forward to more developement on this.
