Trumpet-man

First finished project I started in ZBrush. Character was then textured in Substance Painter, and the rest was done all in Blender.

I started out using this concept drawing by Gray Shuko.

I sculpted the bust in ZBrush and used ZRemesher to get a pretty clean model I then exported as an FBX.

I modelled the trumpet using curves as a base, before hard-surface modelling the little knobs and details.

Finally, here’s the scene setup with lights, a camera and the backdrop. Additionally I sculpted a hand in ZBrush and imported this as well in the foreground to give the illusion that the character is holding it.

Hi everyone,

Here is the “Behind the Scenes” article for this amazing artwork!

Please do check out this article, written by the artist himself. It describes the step-by-step process of creating the artwork and provides insight into character designing in Blender.
