not bad…you should definitely work on the hair. .it looks like one of the characters who played zombies on the movie i am legend… its actually good…nice anatomy! haha
nice model, but the material is a little too uniform a color, and it’s easy to tell SSS is used, so i’d advise to try and fix those.
Anatomy is a bit weak and the model doesn’t have any real sense of mass about it. Contour changes too harsh.
Check out some of Burne Hogarths work.
@JimChie: Thanks, never thought about the zombie aspect
@CommieComrade: No SSS is used, just a color ramp. The uniformity is correct, though, but I have problems finding a method that does not melt together at a distance. Ideas?
@SomewhatDamaged: Got links to Burne’s work? Sounds interesting. Also, any pointers on how to create a sense of mass (never really been down that road before)?
Edit: Experimented a bit with the skintone. No other changes. Hands are big because of camera perspective, elbows are still WIP:
I have no idea how you would do that, and also no idea on why you would ask me that after i just mistook your guy as having SSS!
I think maybe it’s just too…smooth or something. the elbows look finished, thought! he’s got that tendon on the side that some people overlook. This may be a total bad idea, but maybe a faint cloud texture, if mapped correctly, could create discoloration on the skin. maybe try that out.
Well, tried some face-only work, but I am still a little skeptical. Any ideas are, as always, welcome. The final model will be made open source available, by the way.
Oh, and do we have any masters of faces on these forums I could check up on and maybe PM for some added critique?
(Left picture is a straight render. Right picture has a post-added gaussian blur)
Edit: Just altered the background for less contrast, and swapped the 35 camera for a 45. Let me hear what you folks think…
