In this artwork I’ve made my original character, named Tamatoa (Samoan for “warrior child”), who holds the title Tui Manu’a, which means he’s a paramount chief. His attire has been heavily influenced by Tui Manu’a Elisala. His looks were influenced by Maui (from Moana) and Peter Maivia (Samoan-American pro wrestler).
In his left hand he is holding a weapon based on Ta Fesilafa’i, which was the first and primary weapon Nafanua used during battle. In his right-hand Tamatoa is holding a custom tiki torch.
