I came across another post here with a model of a TV monitor, which got me thinking about the TV static texture I’d made in Photoshop many years back (here on DeviantArt), and whether I could re-create it in Blender.
What I ended up with does show its tricks a bit in an extreme close-up, but it’s a solid analog-TV-looking snow at most distances.

The node-group is about what you might expect. A Noise texture with a horizontal Wave texture overlaid being the general idea.
