Two kinds of Vortex fields?

I just noticed that adding a Vortex directly to a scene spawns a field with different properties than adding a different field, like Turbulence, and changing its type in the physics tab. Specifically, vortex loses its “inflow” property with the latter.

Is this a bug? Is there significant difference between the two?

Maybe it depends of the position in the scene but I’m not sure.
