I suppose some of you have seen this already, but two of the best open-source games have just been featured in Mircrosoft’s IllumiRoom project trailer. It is mainly showing RedEclipse, a FPS, and a little bit of SuperTuxKart, a cartoonish racing game (it needs to show more of this game
)
It’s an interesting contradiction, but I think it’s pretty cool that SuperTuxKart, which ostensibly is a promotion of and love letter to Linux, was build under a philosophy and framework where it can even be used to test and promote new Microsoft products. With Creative Commons licensing, it’s popular to insist on a noncommercial clause, but I think that’s the wrong mindset. The point of free culture is to allow anyone, regardless of motivation, to be able to benefit from collective knowledge.
OooOOOoOOOoOOO… loook at thaaaatt… … I waaannnnttt…
Oh, sorry, what were you saying?
they’ve done it again. this time there is a third game in there which I don’t recognize. enjoy.
I like the open source games being in there more then the actual product itself
