Two Rigid Body simulations in the same scene

Good Day,

I am trying to make a scene where I have ice cubes falling into a glass, liquid pouring into the glass (which I will add later), and then using wind to simulate the ice cubes floating on the later added liquid.

I am using rigid body to have the ice cubes fall into the glass which is working. I have baked that simulation and then baked to frames, and then removed rigid body world.

I then added wind and keyframed wind strength and flow to 0 on keyframe 1 to keyframe 64 with the same settings and then another keyframe at frame 68 where I turn the strength to 10 and the flow to 245 and play the animation and I do not get any wind animation. I’ve tried adding new rigid body physics to the ice cubes and glass again and still no results.

Am I going at this the wrong way??

Thanks

There’s your answer, no?

So…After many tries I could not get the wind sim to work. After endless searching a number of suggestions were to animate the ice cubes manually which is what I ended up doing. I believe that if I could have gotten the wind sim to work I would have had a more desirable effect with the ice cubes bobbing and moving with the liquid more naturally. Oh well, will keep trying. I am attaching my current file in MP4. Keep in mind that I am a hobbyist.

Why not separate it out into 2 files?

One file would have the cubes dropping simulation. 2nd file would pick up from the end of the cubes dropping and have the wind simulation in it…

Just my thoughts…
Randy
