I’m thrilled to share my biggest project—one that I’ve completed entirely on my own!
Modelled in Blender, rendered with Cycles.
In this project, I set out to create a re-imagined, abandoned version of Frankfurt’s architecturally impressive Festhalle Messe U-Bahn Station. Though the real station is well-maintained and still operational, I wanted to explore what it might look like if it were left to decay. Over the past four months, I worked from scratch to bring this vision to life, modeling everything, creating assets, setting up materials and lighting, and refining each detail to achieve the final look.
The project began with a site visit, where I captured reference photos of the station. From there, I modeled the sections and assets I wanted to highlight as accurately as possible. I then edited materials and graffiti textures that I downloaded from various websites, finalizing them in Blender with node trees to achieve the worn, dirty, and spooky look I envisioned. The decals were created using photos taken directly at the site. Everything you see—except for smaller items like trash, cardboard, boxes, and clothes on the bench—was modeled and textured by me. These smaller set-dressing assets were sourced online.
I’m eager to hear your feedback! Your comments mean a lot to me, and I’d love to know what you think.
