Ive ran into this issue in the past and to solve it i have to delete and restart my project. I dont feel like deleting about 2 hours of work this time.
I cant select all the items for editing no matter what mode im in. When im in either Object or Edit mode and i hit “A” everything except one object turns red. Heres a couple screen shots of what i mean. How do i fix this? I would like to add a material to this.

Your second screenshot as far as I can see shows all your objects as being selected. What do you see as being wrong ?
Im trying to select all the objects so i can unwrap them to make a texture. For some reason im only able to create a texture for one piece at a time. Sorry if i started this thread in the wrong area

That’s because to unwrap you need to be in edit mode and you can only edit one object at any time. To unwrap them as one you will need to join them into a single object by selecting them and pressing Ctrl+J
