Well perhaps looking at ref images of bacteria under a microscope could help cause they are in a liquid environment there and you can try the recreate the realism of the liquid medium like that
I know, because I am biologist by training but working that much on a casual 3 second shot where there is only a single mention of bacteria is not that much worth as there are more shots left
