HI & i was wondering , why sometimes ubuntu gives a flickering screen and continue it after logging in
and sometimes not , using an extensa 5620G laptop 
.
even the live cd boot have this problem !! .
i have never have this problem, do you have good drivers for your graphics card?
but when i run in recovery mode , it usually get solved .
