Hello everyone. The task of creating a complex velour has appeared?
Advise on the best way to create such a material? Through the hair? Perhaps someone has had experience in creating a byodnogo? Need the closest result to the reference.
see this for velvet
but would still need to add some other texture to get the same kind of shape
ans some hair particles too
Canβt achieve a good velvet shader - Support / Materials and Textures - Blender Artists Community

Velour is a fabric that have a nap direction. For this kind of closeup and βdisorganized nap directionβ I donβt see any other option than do the actual fur. For further away shot that are more organized, you can get βkindaβ away with shifting a normal into a specific UV direction, so:
- combinexyz[0.5, 0,25, 1] β normal map color into one shader, and
- combinexyz[0.5, 0.75, 1] β normal map color into another shader and mix them.
One dark, one bright, using some kind of diffuse/velvet mix. Use a hue shift instead to better visualize the effect. As this is a hack, the effect needs to be subtle though and on enough geometry, as shading errors can easily occur.
The orientation of the UV dictate the direction this βnormal shiftβ occur along.
