Hi guys! I am going through a very proliferative stage.
This is the project I’m into now
Playing with Cycles. Just glad to share!

The tennis ball came out really nice…did you use particles? I think this is the first tennis themed project I have ever seen here, so kudos for giving it a go.
Yes, I used particles! I’ll put a US open logo in the ball as well…
I am very glad with the result… let’s see where it going to take me…
I decided to go for the Arthur Ashe…
Is pretty ambitious, but i’m feeling it…
This is my first shot…
A close up…
And a little bit of fun…
Regards!!
Those little steps were much more complicated than it looks…
I am going for an animation… I have the story on my head…
This is a progress of the seats.
I am having some trouble with the render time, I think that is too high poly the mesh and with the array modifier, is bringing my render time down…
Any advice is wellcome
Thanks!
Seats are looking good Joni, are you planning on adding legs? Seems like you have a decent machine, are you getting viewport lag? You may be aware of this, but when you get into real high poly projects like this, under the scenes tab, scroll way down and you will see a box that says simplify… if you check that, and reduce the subsurf to zero and it will help you work within your scene a lot easier.
It does appear your using subsurf on the seats… which will quickly add up.
yes! I got a lot of viewport lag too, I put the subsurf view on 1, and is still kind of slow.
Is because the detail on the seats, the quantity of verts and the array modifier.
i did not know about the simplify, i’ve just try it, wich level of subdivision must use??
I will put legs on the seats in the shorts take, but in the long ones, i will consider if it’s worth it.
Thanks for the advice!!
wich level of subdivision must use??
You probably only want to use this feature when your just working on the scene… never use it when rendering…
I just set the subsurf to 0 and check the simplify box…and I start doing whatever I’m working on. Than when I’m done, I’ll just go back and uncheck the simplify box and put the subsurf back to it’s default of 6. ( don’t worry it will not ever put that many levels, whatever you have set in the modifier, will be the actual level of subsurf it applies when rendering.
Oh, ok. That was really useful. and it will help me when I start animate this scene! thanks again!
I posted the same issue into another forum, Niel, and Jenov told me to use group instance, the result was awesome, 3 gigas RAM of render usage to 300 megas. Is a huge difference and I see it in the render time and in the vieport.
A little and very poor storyboard of my animation intention, at least one of the three key moments of it… and a test, which is vital to the animation…
I’m going to need some serious help guys! haha
Regards!
Really nice work here so far! Keep it up
The story board shows a balloon that is detached and rain? That’s a real challenge, but don’t lose heart! And keep posting. There are a lot of helpful people around here
