In order to use Blender in a dual monitor setup I need to click into a window to activate it every time I switch from the interface on one monitor to the other.
My monitors are different resolutions, so dragging a single window layout across the two monitors is undesirable.
I can select ‘On on Mouse Over’ option in Preference which helps for menu selection but not for interactions with the workspace.
I’ve worked with many dual monitor setups on other software spread across two screens in my time as a vfx artist on a Mac and never had this issue.
Well the interaction between different windows is usually controlled by the OS… so for example on Windows:
And i’m on linux where i also can choose to click or hover to get the focus… and does not have a problem with blender on two monitors…
…so i do not realy know why on MacOS the menus are availabe but not the workspace …
I’m using the Window>New Window method but, as you remark in your video, I need to click into the window each time before I can use it. It is something I have never really got used to and so I often revert back to the one monitor setup for Blender.
There seems to be no solution on MacOS to get window focus without clicking once to activate the window and then again to complete the action. That’s the behaviour across the system, so I guess I’m going to either get used to it or stick to one monitor for Blender.
