Using Flip Fluids to simulate a shore

I have enabled Whitewater sim and assigned the appropriate FF materials.

The water looks and behaves like oil.

I know I am doing something wrong. Can someone explain?

Sand is a spongy material. So the water would actually go through it slightly. Not accumulate on its surface. Also there is a limit of the resolution of a sim like this. I would have another sand slightly above the previous one. And using something like dynamic paint simulation I would add wetness to the send where water touched it.
