UV mapping a cylinder

Hi

I’m a bit new to blender so sorry if this question has come up before. I’m trying to apply a UV image onto the face of a cylinder. The problem is that it applies the image to each individual faces.

Is there a way to select and group all the faces so the one image can be applied?
