Uv question


Hello,

I was wondering, is there away to scale a island in the middle of the uv? (pic 1 below)

also, the last two picture are of the uv and i was wondering, how to make two materials on one object? because when I do a ctrl j and link objects together to array. the object goes back to one material.

last pic has bolt that I want to combine with plank and make a array of planks, but seem to be loosing my uv and material for that

Scale and move just as you would something in the 3d view ( S = scale)

when I do that, it stretches the island and becomes grey. I selected the vertcies in the circle and tried to scale and center.

No idea what you are talking about. Show something, what do you want to achieve ?

If you model holes like this there wont be such problems caused by n-gons.



Add loops, delete one vertex where hole will be and use either LoopTools -Circle or built in To Sphere - 1 op (Space search or Shift-Alt-s).

i was wondering, how to make two materials on one object?

in edit mode select certain polygons then select your material…

under the materials list in the properties panel…

you should see an “Assign” button…
hit that button to “Assign” those polygons to the selected material…
