UV tutorial problem

I’m currently working on this tutorial http://www.gamedev.net/reference/art/features/blender2/default.asp
and I am at the part where you first unwrap the mesh, but even though I followed the directions exactly like they said, When the tut said the unwrap should look like this,

I had this, and I think it has something to do with the unwrapping because I can’t find the LSCM button, but then again, I’m not really sure.

the lscm button is just “unwrap” now, when you press U.
it doesnt really matter anyway, as the unwrap you are going to get from doing that is going to be rubbish anyway. You need to follow the tutorial on and mark seams before the lscm unwrap is going to do anything good.

True, the unwrap isn’t a good one so it won’t really matter if I get that right, but when I furthered into the tut and marked the seam, I found that my unwraps were still differnt:confused:
