Uv unwrap issue improvement of uv unwrap needed

seriously blender i dont think blender can comprehend side view in uvs the artist who made the uvs for the dinosaurs unwrapped them and the designs are from the 90s the freaking 90s!!! heck blender 2.79 could comprehend side view of the mesh in the uvs
but 3.0 couldnt thats why some people use 2.79 for modeling and uvs please fix this issue improve the uv system of blender so it can give us side view smart uv project is a mess to be honest project from view aint great for most parts of the body only a certian part of the body
allo

the uv tutorial by envato tuts didnt help i got circles for legs and feet and a v for a mouth

and please dont consider this a insult im not insulting blender i want to get side view results from uvs i love blender want it to be perfect we have entered the old war arena the rivals have noticed maya has decreased its price to affodable amounts zbrush has free trials houdini is upgrading its free version and 3ds max is becoming a beast so any blender pro watching this please give me a solution

brachi some other stuff i couldnt post due to 1 image limit

What do you talking about?

yes but with dinosaurs who have legs and mouth i want a side view without using project from view i was able to achieve it with neck of the brachiosaurus that i was making but not the body the body was a mess especially the feet with nails

UV unwrapping is always not easy. And ther are soooo much tutorials about unwrapping.

yup cant deny that

It is true, that Blender’s smart UV unwrap is not always that smart :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: especially when islands are varied in size. Sometimes a lot of place is lost which would affect texture quality. However, it can be improved later, I guess they will, and there are many add-ons with better coding, that will pack the islands more optimally, space-wise
You can do it ba hand of course but it wouldn’t be the best solution, since you need the tweaking for complex meshes in the first place, and it would be a nightmare :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I don’t know but I think you need seams and UV unwrap. Look at this page, particularly the bottom, the steps.

https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/latest/modeling/meshes/uv/unwrapping/introduction.html

What tuts are you looking at?

i solved the issue first we unwrap the mesh certian body parts one by one then ones we cant unwrap that dont give us side view uv island we select that certian part of that non side view mesh and project from view it worked for me in 3.0 doing body parts one by one after unwrapping was the best strategy ever

Great. good for you.
