With the new hair system, is it possible to change the length of the fur based on an image texture?
I can see there is a mask in the Interpolate Hair Curves node group, but this just changes density so the hair looks more sparse. However I want it to specifically shorten the hair.
I can see there is a trim hair curves which would do the job, if there was a way to input a texture as the mask.

I tried to use this configuration but it doesn’t work… it seems that the color mask data type is not suitable as input for the mask channel… any ideas? Can someone upload a scene that works fine as example?
